So much changes when we have a baby.

Our body physically changes, things feel looser, our shape is different, and maybe we have scars or stretch marks.

Our body becomes not just our own as we breastfeed, and cuddle, and comfort.

Our focus and energy shift to caring for someone else, to putting aside our own ambitions for a while to ensure their safety and nurture.

Our mind suddenly is pre-occupied with nap times, feeding stress, and worrying that they are ok and are we doing a good enough job.

Our relationship with our partner and others can be strained as we function sleep deprived, negotiate each other's roles, and navigate this new phase of life together.

Our friends and social lives change as we start to consider someone else's interests as well as our own, and as we recognise the value in friendships that nurture us.

Helping women to recover after having a baby is one of the greatest privileges in my job.
